Machine-Repaired Liver Bodes Well For Future
There are not enough readily available livers for the people who need them. Now, new technology makes it possible that one day machines could help increase the number of available livers. A human liver that was too damaged for transplant was repaired inside a machine over several days and transplanted into a recipient (who is still doing well, a year later). This technology could be an absolute game changer for people on liver transplant lists.
